The Sport Management program now offers a concentration in Sports Medicine. This concentration will serve as a feeder program for the Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at FDU.

Program Highlights

  1. Obtain at least two recognized certifications from NCSF (Personal Fitness and Nutrition) with a possibility of a third in Strength and Conditioning.
  2. A direct path to FDU’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy.

Graduates with a degree in Sport Management and a concentration in Sports Medicine will have the flexibility to pursue career pathways in both business and the scientific sides of the sport industry.

Employment Statistics

  • The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said the need for more occupational therapists is projected to grow 12% from 2022 to 2032.
  • Personal training has been rising in popularity of late, with the fitness training market predicted to grow 14% from 2022 to 2032, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. That growth is a much faster rate than the average for all occupations, the agency said.
  • Employment of recreational therapists is projected to grow 4 percent from 2023 to 2033, about as fast as the average for all occupations.
