Through an interactive, online classroom, you’ll begin your master’s in public health online with a selection of core courses followed by a curriculum specific to the professional track. You’ll receive flexible schedule options, so you can learn at your own pace and complete your degree on your own time. Throughout each semester, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with public health tools through group interactions involving case studies and integrated care groups that focus on interprofessional education.
Applicant for CEPH Accreditation
Fairleigh Dickinson University is an applicant for accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health. The accreditation review will address the Master of Public Health Program. Other degrees and areas of study offered by this institution will not be included in the unit of accreditation review.
Becton Dickinson Scholarship
Becton Dickinson, a global medical technology company, supports Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in many ways, including a scholarship program for incoming and continuing public health students. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, financial need and community involvement.
Students can apply and are eligible to receive the scholarship once per semester. Aid cannot be combined with any other form of financial support.
Dual MPA/MPH Degree Option
If you’re interested in an administrative career in healthcare or government, the online MPA/MPH program is a great way to shape your leadership style while gaining essential skills. You can earn two master’s degrees in two and a half years, and then sit for the Certified in Public Health (CPH) exam.

Meet Our Faculty
Dr. Andrea Brace is an Associate Professor of Public Health at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and serves as the Director and Chair of the master’s in public health program. Brace earned a BA in Psychology, BS in Biological Sciences, MS in Health Promotion, and a PhD in Health Promotion and Behavior from The University of Georgia. Andrea is a Certified Health Education Specialist, and she was an ORISE post-doctoral Evaluation Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity. She teaches Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Program Evaluation, Research Methods, and Health Communication. Andrea’s research focuses on food access and food equity, stealth interventions, college student health, as well as place and health using GIS.
Professor Alyssa Alessandra, MPH, RN is a Lecturer and the Field Coordinator for the master’s in public health program. Alyssa earned a BSN from Moravian College, and an MPH from Benedictine University with concentrations in Epidemiology and Health Management & Policy. Alyssa is currently pursuing her DrPH at Capella University with further exploration of epidemiology. Alyssa’s research focuses on vaccine knowledge and uptake. Alyssa has expertise in Communicable Disease and Public Health Emergency Preparedness. Alyssa spent several years working as a Public Health Nurse. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Alyssa served as the Nurse Supervisor at hundreds of COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Clinics.
Allison Buckingham is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Allison has a BS in Biology and Nutrition, an MS in Nutrition, an MBA, and is a doctoral candidate in Behavioral Nutrition at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is a certified dietitian-nutritionist. Allison’s research focuses on breastfeeding and lactation and examines how healthcare providers’ lactation-related training and education affects their ability to provide supportive, evidence-based care to breastfeeding families. By highlighting the role of comprehensive clinical education in breastfeeding and lactation outcomes, she aims to produce research insights that will improve and expand breastfeeding and lactation training programs for clinicians.
Dr. Bojana Beric-Stojsic is an associate professor of Public Health and at the School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Fairleigh Dickinson University. For the past 25 years, she has been teaching at universities in New Jersey, New York and her native Serbia, former Yugoslavia. As an MD with an MA and PhD in Health Education, Dr. Beric-Stojsic’s professional interests have been focused on teaching and preparation of public health workforce, community-campus partnerships for health and wellness, and global and international health issues including social justice and human rights of children focusing on girls’ rights.
