Academic Profile
I am an experienced Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiology with a strong background in acute, sub-acute, and long-term care settings. I have developed a deep understanding of managing cardiovascular conditions, particularly in complex patient populations transitioning between levels of care. My clinical experience as an acute care cardiac nurse has provided me with expertise in managing patients with acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-surgical cardiac care.
In the sub-acute and long-term care settings, I focus on chronic disease management, rehabilitation, and palliative care, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient recovery and quality of life.
In addition to my clinical work, I am committed to nursing education and leadership. As a faculty member at the School of Nursing, I have taught undergraduate nursing students, focusing on clinical skills, and nursing theory. My passion for education extends to mentoring nurses and participating in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) committees, where I lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes, enhance staff education, and implement quality improvement projects.
Currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree here at FDU, I am focused on advancing my leadership skills, particularly in healthcare quality, clinical outcomes, and organizational sustainability. I am also exploring innovative solutions such as AI-driven predictive analytics to improve patient outcomes, specifically in managing heart failure.
With a foundation in both clinical practice and nursing education, I am dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care while contributing to the advancement of the nursing profession through leadership, mentorship, and continuous learning.
