Academic Profile

Hello, my name is Sharon Dobrina and I am the Administrative Coordinator for Sponsored Programs, Evaluation, and Accreditation at the Henry P. Becton School of Nursing & Allied Health.  I earned my undergraduate degree from Drew University in Madison, NJ, and my MS degree from Rutgers University. The first half of my career involved working with medical students and residents in Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, and Anesthesiology at New Jersey Medical School.  I transitioned to nursing education at Seton Hall University College of Nursing where I was employed for 10 years before being laid off during COVID.  After a long period of unemployment, I accepted a position at FDU working with the Associate Dean at the School of Nursing.  Seton Hall College of Nursing then recruited me back for a grant position working on the Mobile Health Training Project tasked to build a diverse nursing workforce to combat health disparities in the City of Newark.  When that position was eliminated, I returned to FDU to work with Dean Rohan disbursing scholarship and grant funding to undergraduate and graduate students, standardizing blackboard shells for the nursing curriculum, and assisting in the preparation for the ACEN site visit in the Fall of 2024. I will soon begin a new journey pursuing a certificate in Instructional Design.
