Academic Profile
Dr. Romei is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the APA-accredited Clinical Forensic Psychology MA program. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the New Jersey VA Healthcare System. Dr. Romei has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, as well as providing clinical supervision to master’s and doctoral level students and early career psychologists.
Dr. Romei’s research interests focus on violence risk assessment and prevention in inpatient psychiatric hospital settings. She has a specialized interest in the clinical treatment and oversight of people diagnosed with schizophrenia spectrum disorders who are involved in the legal system.
