Academic Profile

Ilirjan (Richard) Cane is a math and statistics educator with rich experience in teaching quantitative sciences at different levels. He holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from Wesleyan University, CT, and a Master’s degree in Probability and Statistics from the University of Tirana, Albania (his home country). After the graduate degree from Wesleyan, he has worked for the College Board, the company that owns SAT, PSAT, and AP programs, as the director of math assessments for more than 11 years. He was part of the team that redesigned SAT. During this time, he developed an interest in psychometrics and pursued a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, completing the coursework in that program. He is very passionate about encouraging young people to develop quantitative and technical skills that are essential to help them succeed in life and the workplace.
