Academic Profile

Dr. Beitscher is an Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Department. She has 20 years of experience as a practicing occupational therapist and has been involved in academia for 10 years. Dr. Beitscher earned a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies with an emphasis in Health Professions from the University of the Cumberlands, and a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Elizabethtown College.

Dr. Beitscher has experience working with individuals with a variety of diagnoses including spinal cord injury, joint replacements, amputees and ultimately found her specialty in the area of brain injury.  Dr. Beitscher has experience in both inpatient rehabilitation as well as outpatient settings. She has written and published peer reviewed articles, as well as presented both nationally and locally on a variety of topics related to brain injury rehabilitation.

Dr. Beitscher is committed to assisting students in maximizing their learning potential. She seeks to enrich student learning experiences by facilitating active engagement in creative, student-centered environments. Dr. Beitscher is excited to join the FDU team.
