Academic Profile

Franklin Bridges, PhD, research focuses on the political economy of independent music. Bridges hosted the New Brunswick local music show and podcast, Overnight Sensations, on WRSU 88.7 FM from May 2016 to May 2022. The show won the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System award for Best Live Music Broadcast in 2020. Bridges is also a co-founder of the New Brunswick Music Scene Archive located in Alexander Library at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. The New Brunswick Music Scene Archive won the 2018 Innovative Archives Award presented by the New Jersey caucus of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference. Bridges is also the bassist of the band, San Tropez, which are on Mint 400 Records.
