Academic Profile
Dr. Kwon is an Assistant Professor in the Masters of Social Work (MSW) program at the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She teaches courses across the MSW curriculum including Human Behavior and Social Environment, Social Work Policy, Empirical Practice, and Diversity and Social Justice.
Dr. Kwon’s research focuses on detecting, understanding, and reducing socioeconomic disparities in health outcomes and access to healthcare systems. She has taken the lead in multiple research projects utilizing advanced analytic methods. Currently, she is leading several research projects. As a 2022 recipient of the FDU Provost Seed Grant, she is utilizing data collected over 40 years from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979 (NLSY79) in order to examine the extent to which individuals’ work-family life course trajectories are associated with health outcomes in later life. She is an active member of several academic affiliations and presented her recent research findings at the 2022 annual conferences of the APHA (American Public Health Association), GSA (Gerontological Society of America), SSWR (Society for Social Work and Research) and CSWE (Council of Social Work Education).
