Academic Profile

Dr. Prisco joined Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Department of Occupational Therapy as Doctoral Capstone Coordinator and Assistant Chair in summer, 2024. Her clinical background is in pediatric occupational therapy (OT), as she worked for over ten years in the New York City Public Schools and providing early intervention services in her community; she maintains a Board Certification in Pediatrics. Dr. Prisco’s teaching philosophy is rooted in service to students and the OT profession. Dr. Prisco aims to inspire passion through the intentional formation of meaningful connections.

In 2021, Dr. Prisco earned a PhD in leadership, focusing her dissertation work on servant leadership within OT. Dr. Prisco currently serves on the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education’s Roster of Accreditation Evaluators. She is an Editorial Review Board member for the Open Journal of Occupational Therapy and a peer reviewer for The American Journal of Occupational Therapy. Dr. Prisco is a standing committee member of AOTA’s Developmental Disabilities Special Interest Section, serving as their liaison to the Disaster Preparedness Community of Practice. She participates proudly in AOTA’s formal mentorship program for doctoral capstone coordinators.

Dr. Prisco has publications and presents regularly relating to servant leadership, imposter phenomenon, interdisciplinary collaboration, and therapeutic drumming with autistic children. Dr. Prisco is eager to continue supporting meaningful scholarly work through her role as Doctoral Capstone Coordinator. Further, she is excited to expand her experience into administration and leadership as Assistant Chair.

Personally, Dr. Prisco is from Staten Island, New York. She is an avid reader and a big-time foodie. Most importantly, Dr. Prisco is the proud wife of Jason and prouder ‘mommy’ of Emily and Benjamin, who inspire her every ambition and have taught her the depths of gratitude.
