Academic Profile

With over 30 years of nursing practice, I am delighted to share my enthusiasm for nursing education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Over the years, I have focused on direct patient care,  nursing education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and administration.

I am an Adult Nurse Practitioner with decades of experience in diabetes management education and primary care of older adults.   My own Doctor of Nursing Practice project focused on transitional care nursing and my current practice involves ensuring the highest level of quality care is being provided to one of the most vulnerable populations.  Throughout my professional practice, I aim to provide high-quality care by communicating, collaborating, and applying evidence-based practice to promote the best outcomes.

As a nurse educator and administrator working in higher education, I am dedicated to promoting student success and positive program outcomes.  I believe a student’s success is built through being an active, engaged learner, receiving positive mentoring, and being exposed to varied experiential learning opportunities.   I enjoy problem-solving and collaborating with colleagues to build programs to meet needs and improve outcomes.

I am an active member of the New Jersey State Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, Psi Mu Chapter, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists.
