Academic Profile
Alan Sheinfil, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology and Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He obtained a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Syracuse University after completing a predoctoral internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.
Dr. Sheinfil’s research aims to develop and test innovative behavioral interventions for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders among populations with chronic medical conditions. His work has a particular focus on technology-enhanced transdiagnostic approaches to treat unhealthy alcohol use among people with HIV.
