Academic Profile

Dr. Anitha Saravana Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the Gildart Haase School of Computer Sciences and Engineering, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Vancouver. She holds a second Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada, and her first Ph.D. in Information and Communication from Anna University, India, showcasing her deep academic foundation. With over 20 years of experience in academia and research, Dr. Kumar brings extensive expertise to her role.

Her research focuses on cutting-edge topics, including autonomous vehicular networks, resource management in edge networks, blockchain, and security using machine learning techniques. She has authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, including publications in prestigious outlets like IEEE Transactions.

Dr. Kumar has served as a reviewer for leading journals, including IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, as well as publications by InderScience, Taylor & Francis, and the Encyclopedia of Computer Science and Technology. Additionally, she has contributed as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for high-profile conferences, such as IEEE Globecom (2020–2024), ICC 2022, and VTC 2024.

Her achievements include receiving the Student Grant (WICE) from the IEEE International Conference on Communications in 2021 and being selected for Toronto Soapbox Science in 2022. She was also honored with the title “Outstanding Woman in Engineering” by the Venus International Foundation’s Centre for Women’s Empowerment in 2017.
