Academic Profile
Amirmohsen Behjat is an academic and researcher with over 18 years of experience in advancing knowledge in the fields of public health, social sciences, economics, and environmental sciences.
He holds a Ph.D. in Geography with a Community Health concentration from the University of Victoria, as well as two master’s degrees in Environmental Science from Ryerson University and Rural Development from Razi University. His extensive academic background has provided him with a robust interdisciplinary perspective, which he leverages to enrich the learning experiences of his students and the depth of his research.
He has taught over 20 different courses spanning public health, social and environmental sciences, and economics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. His pedagogical approach is characterized by a passion for inspiring the next generation of leaders and scholars. Students consistently commend his ability to distill complex concepts into understandable and actionable insights.
His research career is marked by a commitment to impactful and innovative scholarship. He has served as both an investigator and co-investigator for several national and international research projects, contributing to the development of evidence-based solutions for pressing global challenges. His research portfolio reflects a keen interest in Public Health and Environmental Sciences, with a notable emphasis on Food Security and Nutrition.
Throughout his career, he has received multiple prestigious scholarships and awards, including a Doctoral Fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
