Hispanic Center Honored at NJ State Capitol for Outstanding Contributions to the Latino Community

October 30, 2024 — FDU’s Hispanic Center was celebrated in Trenton, N.J., at the state capitol on October 28 as students enjoyed a tour of the historic statehouse, watched the day’s proceedings and met numerous legislators including FDU alumni. The Senate and General Assembly presented a joint legislative resolution commending the Hispanic Center for its “immeasurable contributions” benefiting the Latino community and for its “meritorious record of service and commitment.” President Michael Avaltroni and Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Government and Community Affairs Robert Pignatello were on hand as was Executive Director of the Hispanic Center Irene Oujo.
