Jason Voss

Portrait of a man in a suit and tie, wearing glasses.“Early in my journey at FDU, I recognized that a union between the business side of medicine and the clinical side was right for me. The dual-degree program is amazing.”

Jason Voss took a gap year between his undergraduate degree and FDU’s PharmD/MBA dual-degree program. During that time, he worked in a pharmacy and found it intriguing.

At FDU, Voss completed several clinical experiences, or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences — with Valley Health System in Ridgewood, N.J.; University Hospital in Newark; CVS Corporate across Somerset County; and community pharmacies in Wayne and Cedar Knolls, N.J. — gaining a diverse range of skills.

After graduating, Voss joined Navisync, LLC, a Morristown, N.J., managed markets advertising firm, where he is director of medical content.

Navisync partners with pharmaceutical manufacturers “to illustrate the clinical and economic value of the company’s products to insurance companies, or payers, which dictates which medications are covered, at what rates, and within what parameters,” he says.

Using data, Navisync “contextualizes the burden of the disease and unmet needs in the treatment landscape.” Voss creates value propositions and education resources, including slide shows, brochures, websites and emails. “These are presented to pharmacy directors, medical directors and others to help them understand the gravity of the disease we are treating, how the therapy may improve outcomes, and why patients require access,” he says.

Voss is a preceptor for FDU, mentoring fourth-year pharmacy students throughout their experience. “We have hired a few of my former students,” he says. Three of them are in medical content, and one is a senior account executive. “The FDU footprint is well-established within our organization.”
