Admission Procedures and Interview Information
Applications are evaluated by both Admissions team and the International School of Hospitality, Sports, and Tourism Management.
An interview with the Program Advisor is required before the decision on admission can be made. Interviews are held online via Zoom. Applicants will receive an email from the MHMS Assistant Director of Enrollment Management to schedule the interview. Interviews are 20-30 minutes in length.
For the interview, applicants will be asked to describe their professional experience regardless of field and describe their interest in the MHMS program and career aspirations in the hospitality and tourism industry. Applicants will be evaluated based on their professionalism during the interview. The program recognizes that applicants may be nervous and/or lack perfect speaking skills. Applicants will have the opportunity to ask questions to the Assistant Director. Preparation is strongly encouraged. The interview is an opportunity both for the program to learn more about an applicant and the applicant to learn more about the program.
Direct Admission
MHMS students who meet the academic requirements and have an English proficiency test score equivalent to IELTS 6.5 across all bands are placed into the MHMS program without further testing.
Students who have an equivalent overall IELTS of 6.5 or higher with no band below 6.0, will test and those scoring between 11 and 14 will be enrolled in EPS 5099 in addition to one 3-credit MHMS academic course in their first term, while those scoring 15 or higher will be enrolled in three 3-credit MHMS academic courses in their first term.
