Metro Campus Public Safety 201-692-2222
A message from the university director of Public Safety
On behalf of the members of the Fairleigh Dickinson University Department of Public Safety, I would like to welcome you to the University and our website.
The Department of Public Safety provides protective services to the University community twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
No area is immune to crime and universities are no different. Our efforts to reduce and limit crime are greatly enhanced when members of the Fairleigh Dickinson University Community take an active role in personal safety and crime prevention. Each of us must take personal responsibility for our own safety. We encourage you to report any safety concerns, incidents or suspicious activity to our department.
“Security is everybody’s business” and working together we can continue to make the Fairleigh Dickinson University campuses among the safest in the state.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by telephone at 973-443-8891 or email joseph_vitiello@fdu.edu.
Thank you and we hope your time at Fairleigh Dickinson University is enjoyable, rewarding, but most of all safe.
Joseph V. Vitiello, University Director of Public Safety
