OTD Financial Aid and Tuition
The objective in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is to provide our students with superior services including financial aid counseling and continued support throughout each academic year. The School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the Office of Financial Aid at FDU’s Florham Campus work together to assist you in understanding the financial aid process and applying for financing for your education.

How do I complete my Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)?
Go to www.studentaid.gov and follow the instructions to complete the FAFSA.
How do I correct or update my FAFSA?
Go to www.studentaid.gov. Under “Apply for Aid” choose “Reviewing and Correcting Your FAFSA Form.” Follow the instructions on the website to correct your FAFSA.
Do I have to update my FAFSA every year I am enrolled?
Each year you request financial aid you must complete a FAFSA for that academic year.
What is the program’s Cost of Attendance? How is it determined?
Cost of Attendance (COA) is the estimated cost for a student to attend a specific program for a specific academic year at a specific school. The COA includes tuition, fees, room and board, books, supplies, transportation and personal expenses. It is determined by developing an average cost for students to attend a program in a given year.
Contact the Office of Financial Aid at FDU’s Florham Campus for the COA each year you are enrolled in the OTD program.
What is the maximum loan amount I can borrow in my academic/financial aid year?
The maximum loan amount a student may borrow in a single academic year cannot exceed the total Cost of Attendance (COA) for that year. If the COA for a program is $30,000, then a student may request loans totaling $30,000.

What is the maximum loan amount I can accrue over my entire education?
This is referred to as your aggregate loan limit. Graduate and professional students enrolled in certain health-profession programs may receive additional unsubsidized Direct Loan amounts each academic year. For these students, there is an increased aggregate loan limit of $224,000 (maximum $65,500 subsidized).
When will I receive my award letter?
Your award letter will be uploaded to your online student account once the FDU Office of Financial Aid is able to generate your financial-aid package.
Who initiates my Direct Loans?
The FDU Office of Financial Aid will initiate your loans once you have completed your FAFSA, an entrance counseling exam and signed the eMPN (Electronic Master Promissory Note).
Who initiates my Direct Grad PLUS or Private/Alternative Loan?
You should notify the Office of Financial Aid at FDU’s Florham Campus if you have applied for a Graduate PLUS or private loan.
How will I receive my loan money?
You will be paid through Fairleigh Dickinson University. The University will use your loan money first to pay for tuition, fees and any other school charges. If any loan money remains, you will receive the funds by direct deposit, unless you give the school written authorization to hold the funds until later in the enrollment period.
How do I report other sources of financial aid such as military or outside scholarships?
You need to speak with Office of Enrollment Services (lower level, Hennessy Hall) and complete any necessary paperwork with them.
Who completes my In-school Deferment Form?
You should contact your loan lender for the policies on deferment. You can receive a form from the Office of Enrollment Services (Lower Level, Hennessy Hall) to certify that you are in fact a current student.
